Koi nahin!!

The words "koi nahin" was first heard by me when i was in Cochin University. It took me a long time before i can understand its meaning. It is a short form of "koi baat nahin" and is widely used by Punjabis. Suddenly all the thoughts of punjabi dominance came inside my mind. After DDLJ, people found a new love in punjabis and their life style ignoring the goodness in their own cultures. Every culture has a positive or negative aspects of its own. Actually this "koi nahin" can be thought as a mixture of Punjabi and US style. In US they love to make short forms. Like the words "Good Bye" is an abbreviation of "God be with you". This cultural slavery must be avoided as it fails to brings goodness in one's own cultures. I am a Bihari by birth and non-biharis just love to ridicule biharis saying they hail from Lalu's land. What a poor memory they have. They are remembering Lalu but not Budhdha and Mahavira. Even biharis love to forget these great persons perhaps as they are importing values from other cultures forgeting their own golden past. They are ignorant of the fact that China and Japan are so much advanced importing the culture from their own state bihar. Like Vivekanand said "I am proud that I am an Indian" when indians were ridiculed world-wide. Perhaps one should take a leaf from his book and say "I am proud that I am a Bihari".
